White Paper – An opportunity not to be missed
In 2014, the number of mobile application downloads will reach 76.9 billion, according to a new study carried out by International Data Corporation1 (IDC) ”The worldwide revenue generated by the downloading of mobile applications is expected to grow by 60% annually, reaching more than US$35 billion in 2014”. A huge potential for all types of companies.
Information is no longer diffused in a top-down manner; it now comes from the end user. In the past, we as individuals lacked the means to express ourselves like we can today. Our opinions are becoming more important than corporate messages and brands. The Web 2.0 culture has changed the game, forcing us to react by exposing our point of view. A new horizontal form of relationship is gradually emerging: peer-to-peer between distributors, brands and consumers.
In this White Paper, we will begin by presenting an overview of the mobile world using both qualitative and quantitative data (Part 1); we will then look at current best practices and the opportunities for value creation (Part 2); and finally we will discuss current and future challenges (Part 3). Happy reading!
